The Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana Foundation has partnered with the Pennington Biomedical Research Center to provide expertise in the administration of the grants program and to evaluate and measure the effectiveness of the program. Pennington Biomedical is the foremost academic nutritional research center in the world dedicated to finding a cure for chronic diseases. Pennington Biomedical has engaged in numerous interventions across Louisiana and is noted for its work to combat childhood obesity, including a the development of the innovative “Louisiana’s Report Card on Physical Activity and Health for Children and Youth”.
Workshops and/or conference calls will be held to describe this grant opportunity, to provide guidance about the application process, and to answer questions from organizations considering applying. Workshops to provide capacity-building technical assistance on varied aspects of developing the grant proposal.
Organizations who submit a letter of intent will be invited to participate in regional workshops and/or web conference calls that will provide direct capacity-building technical assistance in developing their grant proposal.
