Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana, as the oldest and largest health insurance company in the state, has an obligation to improve the communities where we live and work. This obligation – called “corporate social responsibility” – takes the form of charitable contributions, employee volunteerism, community events and many other kinds of philanthropic programs.

Louisiana 2 Step
The 2 Step is Blue Cross’ biggest commitment to the health of Louisiana. Everyone across the state is learning simple ways to get healthier and live better by doing the Louisiana 2 Step.

Team Blue
As another way to give back to the community, the company has a league of employee volunteers, called Team Blue, who donate their time and talents to nonprofits, charities and schools statewide.
Matching Gifts
Our employees give more than their time. In addition to volunteering for community projects, Blue Cross employees give money to various charitable organizations through our company’s generous Matching Gift Program.
United Way
Each year, Blue Cross employees conduct creative fund-raising campaigns to support the United Way, which funds many community agencies throughout Louisiana. The company matches employee donations dollar-for-dollar.
