The Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana Foundation is a valuable resource for Louisiana communities. To improve health and education in Louisiana, we award grants to numerous organizations, and we manage two unique programs for Louisiana children.
Challenge for a Healthier Louisiana
The Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana Foundation (BCBSLAF) is issuing a challenge to communities across the state to help reshape their environments to support healthy living and prevent obesity.
Smart Bodies
Part of building a healthier Louisiana is addressing the problems that stand in the way. Education is the answer. This school-based program teaches children in grades kindergarten through 5 about nutrition and fitness.
Angel Award
For their outstanding volunteer service on behalf of Louisiana’s children, seven men and women from across the state have been named the 2012 winners of the Angel Award®, presented by the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana Foundation. The award includes a $20,000 grant for each honoree’s chosen charity.
Impact Grants
The Foundation provides about $2 million a year to more than 200 organizations statewide, from charities to school programs to community agencies. Together, we’re improving Louisianians’ access to healthcare and educational resources.
